NDAC Try-A-Dive Experience
The NDAC Try-A-Dive Experience introduces you to scuba diving in a highly supervised and relaxed manner. It dispels common misconceptions about scuba by letting you try it for yourself.

Under the guidance of a PADI professional, you will experience the thrills of swimming underwater in the safety of a swimming pool.

This course is held on Saturday mornings at Thornbury Leisure Centre's Pool or at the NDAC

This Course replaces the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program

Thornbury – October - May
Meet at Thornbury Leisure Centre for 9am for paperwork and to have a briefing for the session starting a 10am. The session should be completed by 11.30am

NDAC – June - October
Meet at the NDAC for 9am for paperwork and to have a briefing for the session starting a 10am and should be completed by 11.30am.

*For Try-A-Dive experiences at the NDAC there is £16.00 entry charge to the site –payable on the day by all students.

Minimum Ages: 10 yrs.

No previous diving experience required. However participants do require reasonable swimming skills.

PADI Openwater Diver
Course Code NDAC-PADI-OWD

PADI Open Water Diver
The PADI Openwater Diver course teaches you the foundational knowledge and skills you need to dive with a buddy, independent of supervision anywhere in the world, to a maximum of 18 meters (12 meters for Junior divers aged 10 – 14).

Earning your PADI Openwater Diver certification is just the beginning. As a certified diver, fabulous dive destinations, exciting people, unparalleled adventure and uncommon tranquillity await you. Also, as you continue your adventure and gain experience through higher training levels, your opportunities expand.

The PADI Open Water Course is run over two weekends.

  • Weekend one Theory and Pool Dives.
  • Weekend Two Openwater Qualifying Dives.

The theory and qualifying dives are held at the National Diving & Activity Centre.

The pool dives are held at Thornbury Leisure Centre

If you wish, you can complete the knowledge development portion of the PADI Open Water Diver course online with PADI eLearning. However, you will be required to take a formal multi-choice review question paper at a formal classroom session.

This Course takes place over two weekends as follows

Part 1
Saturday
Held at NDAC
Arrive at the NDAC for 0800hrs. The theory class starts at 0815hrs and will finish at approximately 1500hrs.

Sunday
Held at Thornbury Leisure Centre's Pool
Arrive at Thornbury Leisure Centre for 0900hrs to begin equipment set-up and have a briefing for the pool session. The day ends around 1600hrs.

Part 2
Saturday and Sunday
Held at NDAC
Open Water Qualifying Dives at NDAC 0800 - 1500hrs

Minimum age – 15 years old (10 years old for Junior Divers).

Review, complete and sign all PADI documents prior to in-water training.
