Scuba Diving at the National Diving & Activity Centre, Chepstow

Our flooded quarry lake offers some of the best inland scuba diving conditions in Europe with a range of depths to suit all abilities of scuba diver. The waters have many underwater attractions including planes, armoured vehicles, sunken boats and helicopters.

The National Diving & Activity Centre has highly trained staff and all the facilities you would expect from an inland scuba diving centre. There are classrooms for instructor and club use, a well stocked scuba dive shop, a state of the art gas room to refill dive cylinders, equipment hire, scuba equipment servicing, changing rooms and toilets.

Underwater Scuba Attractions

The National Diving & Activity Centre's inland scuba centre has a wide range of exciting underwater attractions at a range of depths for vistors to explore.

These include planes, armoured vehicles, sunken boats and helicopters.

We also have a underwater site map that can be used to help plan your scuba dives at the NDAC.

Gas Room

The top of the range gas room at Chepstow's National Diving & ActivityCentre (NDAC) offers one of the UK’s finest facilities.

Our gas room contains some of the most advanced gas mixing equipment available on the market today and has the capacity to provide for all your needs and more.

The gas room is situated next door to the Dive Shop making it convenient to have your cylinders filled and pay for your gas.

A range of gasses are available including nitrox, oxygen and trimix.

Scuba Equipment Servicing

The National Diving & Activity Centre provides in-house scuba equipment servicing and testing. Our servicing Centre is staffed by our own SITA / IDEST approved technicians with all technicians holding manufacture servicing certificates for an extensive range of Scuba equipment.

Accommodation

For those wanting to spend a few days scuba diving, we have onside accommodation in the form of Wooden Wigwams. Sleeping up to five adults, Wigwams are the ultimate eco cabin; double-glazed, secure, cosy and warm whatever the time of year. A low cost alternative to hotels and B&Bs, our Wigwams truly offer all year round camping, and the best bit, no pitching a tent in the rain!

There are three grades of Wigwam to suit all budgets from our standard cabins up to our VIP Wigwams with luxurious hot tubs.

The View Cafe Bar

The View Café Bar serves an extensive range of hot & cold meals as well as a wide selection of beers, wines and soft drinks from the licensed bar.

All are welcome to sit inside, or out on the decked veranda to enjoy the stunning views across the water. During the warmer months we hold regular BBQs and often host live music acts.

The View Cafe Bar is the perfect venue to relax between dives, enjoy a delicious meal or enjoy yourself in the evening.

Learn to Scuba Dive

For those wanting to learn how to scuba dive or develop their skills; training on site is provided by our training partner, ScubaQuest Ltd.

Whether you're a complete beginner who fancies a try-dive in the pool, or an experienced scuba diver who wants to progress to new depths or start instructing; our scuba diving school provides a wide range of competitively priced courses, delivered by our experienced and qualified instructors.

Location of the National Diving & Activity Centre

The National Diving & Activity Centre is based just outside Chepstow in Tidenham. We are near the beautiful Forest of Dean on the A48 and within a 5-minute drive of the M48 Severn Bridge, which is now free to cross!
