| Closing
date for the SARA Abseil has
been extended
The National Diving & Activity Centre
is promoting
an Abseil Charity Challenge for The Severn Area
Rescue
Association (SARA) on Sunday 5th September.
The Abseil will run from the top of the
quarry, down 200ft onto a floating pontoon below - an exciting
abseil in a spectacular location!
The closing date for entries
for the SARA Abseil on the 5th September has been extended to
the 31st of August.
We still have places left and if you’ve not already registered
we’d like to invite you to take part in our abseil to raise
funds for replacing the SARA3 lifeboat. After 15 years of service
it needs replacing to continue its life saving work on our local
rivers – the Severn, the Usk, the Wye, the Avon etc. SARA
need to raise £25,000 to do so.
Many thanks to those already signed up and best of luck with the
fundraising.
To take part
Download the Entry Form, Sponsorship form and
Information Sheet below. Return your Entry Form back to us with
a £70 deposit to secure your place. You can recover your
deposit from your sponsorship money. All entries need to be received
by Friday 13th August 2010 Tuesday
31st August.
Then try to raise as much additional sponsorship
as you can, ideally a minimum total of £125.00 including
your deposit.
All fundraisers raising £125
or more will be entered into a draw for a day out on the Severn
Estuary in a SARA lifeboat. The highest fundraiser will win a
mystery prize.

SARA is the largest independent lifeboat service
in the UK, second only to the RNLI, with 8 operational boats and
approximately 150 personnel.
SARA's Beachley station is situated under
the Severn Bridge on the spur of land between the Rivers Severn
and Wye. It is ideally located to cover the water between Sharpness
to the north, down to Avonmouth and Newport in the south. The Rivers
Avon, Usk and Wye are all part of the operational area.

funds.
