| Canal
weedcutter fibreglass boat
These photos show a fiberglass canal weedcutter
which is going to be a new attraction at the National Diving &
Activity Centre.
The weedcutter is around 20 years old and was
one of only five made specially for cleaning canals; it is believed
originally in the Bristol/Somerset area by the localwater authority.
She looks a little worse for wear in the pictures,
due to being stored in the bushes, but she is about 20 foot long,
5 foot wide, with a very thick fibreglass body and wooden paddles
like an old steam boat.
This boat has been very kindly donated by Tony
and Tee Vobe who are looking forward to seeing it when they dive
with us.
