Miss Wales' Adopted Charity to Launch
Beauty Contests
The Joshua Foundation, which is the adopted
charity of the Miss Wales contest, is launching its own unique beauty
contests this week to raise money for the charity, which provides
holidays and experiences for children with cancer and their families.
“Yummy
Mummy and “Dashing Daddy”
are aimed at the mothers and fathers of Wales and offer contestants
the thrill of the catwalk whilst also raising money for the charity.
It is hoped that over 150 people will apply for the contest, with
those short-listed going on to the semi-final challenge events in
January. The finals will be held in May at the prestigious National
Museum of Wales in Cardiff with some fantastic prizes up for grabs.
These contests are the first of their kind
in the UK and going forward will become an annual event. Mums and
Dads of all ages can apply, though they must be Welsh or live in
Wales, be over 18 years old and being willing to have fun and have
new experiences! The deadline for applications is 19th December
2008. Application forms are available to download at www.thejoshuafoundation.co.uk
Sarah Cornelius, The Joshua Foundation's
Chief Executive said: "We are very excited about these competitions
are all about living life to the full. The men and women of Wales
who also happen to be parents, are a fun loving bunch, savvy, worldly
wise and have big hearts. We hope to make them proud to be Yummy
Mummies and Dashing Daddies!"
