Launch yourself from the 70m high cliff edge and speed along the length of our 80m deep flooded quarry.

MS SocietyBe one of the first to take on one of the UK's longest, tallest and fastest zip slides and combine it with raising funds for a very worthy cause, the MS Society.

Simply Sign up here, raise some sponsorship and then all you'll have to do is launch yourself from a secure platform with panoramic views over the Severn Estuary and speed along safely over the 700 metre-long quarry!

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neurological condition which affects around 100,000 people in the UK. Most people are diagnosed between the ages of 20-40, but it can affect younger and older people too.

From the 1st of April 2012 we will be making a great change to our Summer Opening Times.

With the extra daylight and increased visitors to the site we have decided to extend our opening hours on Saturdays until 8pm.

This means up to an extra 2 hours of diving in the NDAC Quarry. Combined with our new seven days a week opening, there are loads of opportunities to scuba dive in Chepstow!

New 7 day Summer opening times
(01 April – 31 October)

Mon - Fri: 0930 -1700
Sat: 0800 – 2000
Sun: 0800 – 1800
Bank Hols: 0800 – 1800

Seven Day Opening at NDAC

Following the success of our seven day opening this Winter we are pleased to announce that we will be continuing with the seven day opening throughout 2012.

The centre will be open 0930 -1700 weekdays and 0800 to 1700 at weekends and bank holidays throughout the rest of the Winter Season before we return to our Summer Opening Times in April.

It has been a very busy few years at the NDAC. We've installed numerous underwater attractions,built a new entrance, opened a Wigwam village and have completed a massive amount of infrastructure work across our site, not to mention the View Cafe Bar and the Wire Zip line that are coming soon!

All of this work had made our site maps regularly out of date and each time we did make another update there was always another exciting project around the corner!

Night Dive at NDAC Quarry

This will be the last of our popular night dives before the Summer season starts:

The adventure, thrill and excitement of night diving can be yours on a NDAC Night Dive.

If you have never been on a night dive before, you could consider joining on one of our PADI Night Diver Speciality Courses.

We're expecting this to be a popular event so we advise you book your wigwam early if you want to make a glamping weekend of it.

NDAC Closed 29 March 2012

The National Diving & Activity Centre will be closed to the public for all activities on Thursday the 29th March 2012.

This is due to infrastructure works being carried out on the site.

Luckily the planned works will be finished a day ahead of schedule. This means that the site will now be open on the Friday 30th running normal opening times and not closed as previously reported.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

 

19 new accommodation units at Chepstow Activity Centre

We now have 19 Wooden Wigwams!

Phase two development works for the Wooden Wigwam Accommodation at NDAC Chepstow were completed on time, on budget and before Christmas - Now thats a first!

The final wigwam unit arrived just in time for the Christmas rush with the 2011 Scuba Santas event. This now brings our Wigwam village up to an impressive19 units. The recent investments have also included another toilet and shower block in the Wigwam Village and a water treatment plant.

Wooden Wigwam VillageWe were not expecting the Wooden Wigwams to be such a runaway success, but they have proved to be very popular with divers and visitors to Chepstow. We started with six Wigwams back in February, this then grew to 10 units, then to 14 units and now 19 units in ten months! Each of the Wooden Wigwams are hand made in Scotland then send via road down to NDAC some 600miles away!

The Wooden Wigwams offer the ideal 4 season camping holiday or short break, for group’s families and couples. A great low cost alternative to youth hostels, B&Bs, self catering or camping. Wigwams are the ultimate eco cabin; secure and lockable the wigwams offer all year round camping, and the best bit, no pitching a tent in the rain!

If you are visiting us for the last Night Dive before the summer, why not make a full weekend of it and go glamping in style. The wigwams are proving very popular, so book your wigwam accommodation now to avoid disappointment.

The total budget for the Wooden Wigwam accommodation we have in Chepstow is around £300k but we feel has been well worth it and from listening to what our visitors have told us, you feel the same way.

The cold, we thought so…well the answer is here with a brand new design of heated under suits that really do keep you warm no matter what the weather or water temperature!

This product is new to the UK diving and watersports market and the NDAC is pleased to announce that we have some Thermalution heated undersuits for you to try.

We have a small and a large undersuit available, and with the recent cold snap we’re expecting this product to be very popular.

It costs £20 to try dive one of the Thermalution heated undersuits which will be refunded if you decide to purchase one.

We can also offer NDAC Members a 10% discount on the cost of a Thermalution heated undersuit from the NDAC Dive Shop.
The View Cafe Bar

The View Café Bar

We’re pleased to announce that the old NDAC Snack Bar is finally to be replaced by our new Café Bar complex, named The View.

Architect drawings of Cafe BarThis will mean a sad farewell to the old burger bar we have used for the past five years. However we feel this investment is needed to develop the site and provide everyone with a great facility.

We hope you all agree it will be well worth the time and effort to make your days with us a bit more special.

The View Café Bar will be for everyone; Divers and visitors alike will be able to sit inside or out on the veranda, with a breathtaking view overlooking the Chepstow quarry.

As well as serving great food, the View Café Bar will also have a licensed bar and a stunning view.

Those of you staying with us in the Wigwam Villagewill also be able to enjoy a cold beer and something to eat after a long days diving and relax a bit more whilst at the NDAC.

The View - Construction is progressing well

The construction works are progressing well and the cafe bar is really starting to come together.

The View ChepstowAround 5 tonnes of steel have recently arrived on site and will be used to construct the outside veranda. The veranda will be a great spot to relax and enjoy the breathtaking view overlooking our Chepstow quarry.

We have a projected build time of around 20 weeks and are looking to get the View Café Bar up and running during March 2012.

We are working as fast as we can to get The View open for business and we promise it will be well worth the wait!
