| The
Miss Wales/Mister Wales Challenge Day 2009
Guys
and girls from across Wales gathered at the National Diving and
Activity Centre in Chepstow on Sunday 5th July, to take part in
an outdoor pursuits challenge day, in aid of The Joshua Foundation.
The participants were all finalists in the
Miss Wales and Mister Wales competition. And as part of their quest
to be crowned Miss or Mister Wales the finalists all have to raise
funds for The Joshua Foundation.
The Joshua Foundation is a Childrens
Cancer Charity, which provides holidays and experiences for children
and their families, where the child has been diagnosed with terminal
cancer.
The Joshua Foundation is the chosen charity
of Vibe Models who run the Miss Wales and Mister Wales competitions.
The finalists fundraising forms an integral part of their
involvement in the competition and also sees them raise significant
funds for children with terminal cancer. Last year alone the finalists
raised a staggering £75,000 for the charity. This year we
are hoping to surpass this target and reach £100,000!!
The images show theMiss Wales and Mister Wales
finalists being put through their paces at the NDAC before setting
off on a 200ft abseil. They are learning the techniques of knots
and rope management that was also a usefull tool when they were
put into groups for a leaderless command tasks later on that day.
All participants put 110% into the event which
was a great sucess and raised a lots of cash for charity - the day
finished off with a BBQ for all participants - Well done to all
the finalists and we look forward to hosting the event again next
year - A big well done also to Ali who was the event organiser.
